Angie Coulson (b. Columbus, OH) is a Washington, D.C. based artist who works in the mediums of painting and drawing. Angie studied Art at Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, OH for three semesters, where she was also a two year student athlete on the Women’s Soccer team. Angie then transferred to The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where she received her B.A. with a double major in Art and World Economy and Business. In her final year at Ohio State, Angie started developing her current aesthetic for abstract painting, which was initially inspired by her coursework in economics and her part-time accounting job at the time.

After graduating, Angie focused on her full-time career outside of art. Her first full-time job led her back to soccer, where she worked in the front office of Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew. She then worked in several different roles and organizations doing accounting and eventually non-profit fundraising. During these years, Angie continued to paint, draw, and work on creative projects.

Within the past few years, Angie has gone back to that abstract idea that she initially started on in her final semester of college. As this abstract work has evolved it has started to take inspiration from various places, but the initial aesthetic has carried through. She also works on representational paintings and drawings, gathering inspiration from the scenery around her and various places she visits.

Angie has recently begun to establish her career as an artist and has begun to sell and exhibit her work.
